Lost Money and Stolen Shoes

Feeling a bit of a downer today.

I was finally getting caught up on my budget yesterday (yeah, I love keeping track of what I spend traveling), and I seemed to be short quite a bit of cash. I can't even say how, but somehow I lost $260 on my way here. :( What's wrong with me?! Did I leave it on the bar in the airport lounge? Did I drop it somewhere? Did someone steal it while I slept on the flight or on the bus? I honestly don't think it's the later but I've been so out of sorts lately that I can't even remember where I had stashed that money.

Totally frustrated with myself and now that KILLS my budget. I am determined to stick to my budget of $1,000/month though so that just means I have to spend less while I'm here. What's (almost) funny is that after money already spent on lodging (thankfully it's all paid for for the next 2 months, groceries, airfare, etc.), I have less than $350 left for the entire trip. This ought to be fun.

So I have done my best to get over that because I don't want to be a sad sack. I'm here to heal and to become happy, dammit. Then I went downstairs for something and was like "where are my shoes?". Gone. That fucking sketchy guy who came by trying to sell us a half a bottle of coconut oil (that did smell wonderful by the way), must have taken them. :( Feeling a bit beat up at the moment. Susan said it was probably this guy Fulvio who was pretty messed up yesterday and he would steal them.

This is one of the few trips I brought more than one pair of shoes but quite frankly I only brought my other shoes if absolutely necessary for hiking in the jungle. I can't stand to wear closed shoes! Rather than buy a pair of $3 rubber flip flops at the market, Lynn was nice enough to leave me her little rubber ones that are at least cute. Not the best for hiking around and certainly not strong like my $50 Reef Fannings, but c'est la vie. I need to get over this too. I fucking hate thieves.

On a positive note, Lynn has been collecting all sorts of natural decorations from the beach every day. We have quite a collection including our new scrappy-haired coconut buddy! Don't worry, they'll all be brought back out there before I leave. ;)
So many cool rocks, sees, shells, and wood from the beach! That entire plate on the right is all Sea Hearts.

My centerpiece I made out of some of Lynn's finds.
