Keep your valuable items secure at the beach, especially when traveling alone. Best way to do that? Take them into the water with you.
Unfortunately, it's not worth the risk getting something that is not going to keep your gear dry. After a lot of research and recommendations, I've come up with a list of the best bags to take snorkeling, kayaking, or simply in the hotel pool.
Basic Waterproof Phone Belt Bags
There is a pretty big price discrepancy from the cheaper bags up to the higher end ones. I've picked out the less expensive bags that have the best likelihood of actually being waterproof. They have three zipper seals, then they fold over, and velcro shut. They have good reviews and I have had other travelers recommend them who have used them extensively.
I'm pretty sure these less expensive ones are all the same, just rebranded. Either way, they are pretty comparable to each other.
You can choose the right one for you by color, and if you want a single bag, 2-pack, or 3-pack.
AiRunTech Waterproof Waist Pouch 2-pack
This dry belt bag fanny pack is to take in the water with you when you're at the beach and want to take your phone and other items with you to be secure an safe when you go in the water. I'm posting this one after extensive research. I have not tried it myself yet. I think these less expensive ones are all the same, triple zip, just rebranded. Check out the more expensive bags too.

Then onto the higher end bags. First of all, they are much better looking. They look more like a traditional belt bag and come in nice colors. Really you could even use them around town. Both of these use the TruZip technology. I have seen reports that one company created it and licensed it to the other, and vice versa. Either way, you are getting the same quality waterproof technology in either of these bags.
The Nite Ize is less expensive than Booe, and also is sold on Amazon (Booe is not). I personally prefer Amazon because I like the shipping and return options.
Top Pick
It's Nite Ize for the win. It uses the top technology, it's priced less than it's direct competition, and it's available on Amazon.

Reviews
Always read user reviews. Lots of them. This will usually let you know if the bag fails and allows water to get in.You always have to read between the lines in case the review was submitted by the manufacturer. Also you want reviews from people who have used the item for some time.
Sealing Mechanism
With the higher end bags, they use a specialty created technology; not just a zipper seal. For the less expensive bags, hunt out ones that have a triple zipper plus a fold. Bags that just have a single zip seal or a dry bag type fold over are less likely, or completely unlikely, to remain waterproof when submerged.
Check the Specs
A lot of these type of bags are not actually waterproof, just water resistant. Many of them are not rated to be submerged. Check the waterproof rating and also check user reviews to see if anybody has used them submerged or how long they have taken them out snorkeling.Do you like my recommendations?
