Travel is my passion and I'd love to inspire you to budget travel on as little as $30/day, lend a few travel tips, share some real stories, and give useful information on the places I've been; the type of information that I search for before I travel to a place.


You don't have to be rich to see the world! You just need to shift your mindset from the typical western "vacation", adopt a new travel attitude, and you won't believe the people and places you can experience at a fraction of the cost.


Travel is for anyone with a sense of adventure, even a vegetarian woman traveling alone in her 50s. ;)

Cocoon Coupler BEST Travel Sheet

This is my favorite brand of travel sheet. You get what you pay for and this is quality. The cotton Coupler TravelSheet fits my criteria of having an all-around zipper and back pillow pocket. I like being able to open it up all the way to make a flat sheet, and also if you're traveling w/ your mate, you can zip two sheets together. It's a little heavier than the cotton/silk version, though at 14.5 oz. and 8" x 4" packing size.

Cressi Tonga Snorkel Fins

Cressi Tonga Snorkel Fins

These will JUST fit in a carry-on suitcase. Lightweight and from quality brand Cressi, you can bring fins without taking up all the space in your luggage! I just used them and they were great snorkeling in a current.

Eagle Creek Exhale Inflatable Neck Pillow

Eagle Creek Exhale Inflatable Neck Pillow

Similar to the Sea to Summit pillow but a little plusher, a tiny bit bigger, and a lot better quality. Packs tiny, blows up in just a few breaths to a nice large pillow with a narrow back and a closure in front. Not as easy to empty as StoS, but I love this pillow! It's a separate bladder in a soft pillow case.

Keep an Open Mind

Budget travel does not mean sleeping in dorm bunkbeds and partying all night (unless you want it to of course).
